From lose lose to win win.

It has been my experience that the difference between a good athlete (amateur or professional) and a great one exists primarily in the mind. The long hours of practice and training are sabotaged by that little voice, telling us how we will or (more often) won’t succeed.

You know the voice I am talking about, the one that’s a constant, if unwanted, companion. “My sport doesn’t have enough sponsorship”, “My main rival is so much better than me, I’ll never beat her”, “I am too short to be really successful”, “We never win at this stadium” – these are but a smattering of the verbal drivel the voice peppers us with on an ongoing basis.

Using Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) not only is it possible to address and neutralise the self-defeating small-talk but also to replace it with something far more helpful and useful. Imagine another, different scenario. One where you run onto the field, step into the stadium or slip into the pool and the negative little voice is replaced by a positive one and you exude a quiet confidence that no matter what happens you have what it takes to do your very best.
